POSITION SUMMARY


As an Accounting Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance team. You’ll assist with various accounting tasks, gain valuable insights into financial operations, and contribute to the overall success of our organization. This internship is an excellent opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge in a professional setting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  1. Accounts Payable (AP): Assist in processing invoices, verifying vendor payments, and maintaining accurate records of payables.
  2. Accounts Receivable (AR): Help manage client invoices, track outstanding payments, and follow up on receivables.
  3. GL Reconciliation: Maintain spreadsheets and assist in reconciling General Ledgers on a monthly basis.
  4. Budget Balancing: Assist in balancing the office or department budget.
  5. Journal Entries: Enter and post journal entries related to financial transactions.
  6. Organizing and Archiving Files: Sort, categorize, and archive financial documents for easy retrieval.
  7. Other Miscellaneous: Accounting projects will vary.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  1. Education: Recent graduate or actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
  2. Coursework: Satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses with a basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
  3. GPA: A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Skills: Aptitude for math, proficiency with computers, and attention to detail. Experience with Excel & QuickBooks would be a plus.
