Best Practices for Your Email Upkeep: Fake Email Addresses are NOT Allowed

Following the issues that were encountered with email delivery and bounce-backs in late April, we’ve made some changes at CU*Answers relating to how we handle emails and similar methods of communication.  We have also gathered several tips that we want to share with clients, to better safeguard against delivery errors and bounce-backs.

It is important to note that your credit union is not allowed to enter addresses such as noemail@fake.com or ask@please.com into a member’s email address field.  Although these fake addresses will eventually be deleted by our monthly process, until they are, they specifically put our entire network at risk of being blacklisted by spam filters.  Please inform your staff that if they do not have a real email address, they should always leave the field in CU*BASE blank!
