CU*NorthWest’s Disaster Recovery Test Planned for March 20 – March 27, 2022
Creating a recovery plan without testing it provides a false sense of security. If it’s not tested regularly, you can’t be sure it will work when you need it the most.
CU*NorthWest is dedicated to maintaining thoroughly tested recovery plans. We conduct tests like these throughout the year. These tests have the back up server acting as the primary server for one week.
The next test of this plan will be conducted on:
Sunday, March 20, 2022 through
Sunday, March 27, 2022
On Sunday evening, we will complete the necessary steps to roll production of our core-processing systems from the Site-Four primary data center in Yankton, SD to the High Availability server in Grand Rapids, MI. You will process all normal business transactions on the backup server until the following Sunday, when we roll back to the primary server.
HOW TO CONDUCT YOUR PING TEST:
* In Windows 10, type the following into the Windows Search box: cmd
* Once the command prompt is open, you will need to type in the following: ping ha.site-four.com and hit ENTER
* If you receive replies, then your workstation is able to communicate with that device over the network. If you get timeouts or receive a “not reachable” message, please contact the Help Desk at ithelpdesk@cu-northwest.com.
CU*NorthWest staff will test the system and each of these services to assure that the roll was successful for our clients on Sunday and again on the following Sunday:
- CU*Talk audio response
- It’s Me 247
- Third party communications,
- Answerbook
- CU*Spy
